About Ruwon Nepal
RUWON Nepal is a national network that has been working hard to improve the condition of girls and women in Nepal since 2007. It is an NGO working for the education, development and empowerment of poor girls and women from rural areas of Nepal.
RUWON Nepal focus’ on human rights and in particular women’s rights. Human right issues in Nepal include poverty (particularly in rural areas), education disparities, gender inequality, health issues, and child rights violations, these urgently need addressing.
RUWON Nepal has implemented a number of projects across the country. It supports women and girls from disadvantaged communities in rural areas and Kathmandu. It has sought to develop relationships with partnership organisations in order to work towards shared values and goals. The aim is to achieve sustainable development through, social inclusion advocacy and empowerment.
RUWON is a non-political, non-religious organization.
The organization was registered in district administration office, Sindhuli, the Internal Revenue office PAN/VAT), Janakpur and in Social Welfare Council (SWC), Nepal for its legality

RUWON Nepal has the especial Consultative Status to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). It is the highest status granted by the United Nations to non-governmental organizations (NGO’s), there by allowing us to participate in the work of the United Nations.
