Rural Women’s Network Nepal (RUWON Nepal) is a women-led, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of marginalized women and girls in rural Nepal. Since its establishment in 2007, RUWON Nepal has been working to promote gender equality, social inclusion, and sustainable development through community-based initiatives and advocacy.
RUWON Nepal contributes to the economic and social development of Nepal at the local, national, and international levels by empowering grassroots women and marginalized communities through education, skills training, leadership development, networking, and capacity-building programs.
The organization is committed to creating opportunities for women and girls to become self-reliant, confident, and active participants in society. Through strategic partnerships and community engagement, RUWON Nepal continues to address challenges related to poverty, discrimination, education, economic empowerment, and women’s rights.
RUWON Nepal holds Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the highest level of consultative recognition granted by the United Nations to non-governmental organizations. This status enables RUWON Nepal to contribute to UN discussions, participate in international forums, and advocate for the rights and interests of women and marginalized communities on a global platform.
